Felix James
Executive Director
Felix James is an attorney licensed in the State of New York. He received his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law-Camden and Bachelors from Syracuse University. Felix served on CCYD’s Board of Directors for 14 years before coming the Executive Director in 2012. He has created breakthrough community and youth development programs locally, nationally and internationally. He has received numerous awards and State Assembly and State Senate Proclamations from the State of Delaware and the State of New Jersey. In 2004 Felix became the first New Jersey resident to receive the prestigious Eisenhower Fellowship. He is also a 2013 recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award for Social Justice and Equality to name a few.
He is licensed, certified and/or trained in the areas of Law, Alternate Dispute Resolution, Social Work Field Instructor, Trafficking & Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Phoenix New Freedom Gang Prevention & Intervention Model, and FEMA Emergency Management Institute – Introduction to Incident Command Structure NIMS-100 for Schools.
Sadie Clayton
Director of Admissions
Sadie Clayton earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drexel University in 2003. She earned her Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from Eastern University in 2017. Sadie has a passion for youth development programming. She has been employed by CCYD since 1998. She has served in various capacities and roles within the organization ranging from tutorial engineer, program coordinator, alternative education support staff and pro-social skills trainer. She currently holds the position of Director of Admissions. In addition, Sadie sits on various non-profit collaborations and committees in Camden County such as: Camden County Youth Service Commission (CCYSC), CCYSC Monitoring & Evaluation Committee, CCYSC Planning Committee, the Camden County Children’s Interagency Coordinating Council (CIACC), and the Commission on Child Abuse & Missing Children.
She is trained/certified in the areas of Positive Youth Development, Social Work Field Instructor, Adultism, Effective Communication, Relational Aggression, Human Trafficking & Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children, My Life My Choice Curriculum and Phoenix New Freedom Gang Prevention & Intervention Model.
Ashley Leary
Restorative & Transformative Justice Project Director
Ashley Leary received her Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University in 2019. She has a passion for working with children and adolescents. Ashley was hired as a Program Coordinator at CCYD in 2016. Prior to starting her career in the field, Ashley volunteered her time and services with various populations including high-risk populations, adolescents with behavioral challenges and individuals recovering from drugs & alcohol.
She is trained/certified in the areas of Human Trafficking & Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children, My Life My Choice Curriculum, Phoenix New Freedom Gang Prevention & Intervention Model, Motivational Interviewing, Credible Messenger & Community Violence Intervention Training, and Social Work Management & Practice.
Herma Lang
Bookkeeper
Herma Lang received her Bachelors of Science degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2006. She started volunteering her accounting skills, service and time at CCYD back in 2002. She was hired as a Bookkeeper in CCYD’s Human Resource department in 2016.
